Giant cell (temporal) arteritis in Singapore: an occult case and the rationale of treatment

ABSTRACT
Further observations in respect of giant cell arteritis (GCA) as encountered in a local neuroophthalmology service established in Singapore ten years earlier are reported. The rarely seen occult form of the disease is described along with an illustrative case report concerning an 80-year old woman. The overall management of GCA is discussed in respect of four clinical scenarios and their treatment.
